2017 Story
1. Pro Tour Aether Revolt
-This is the first PT of the year and shows the new deck Mardu Vehicles. This deck Dominated the PT. It also marked the first Pro Tour of the Team Series.
2. Pro Tour Amonkhet
-Two decks came to the spotlight here; Temur Marvel and Mono-Black Zombies. This then led to Aetherworks Marvel being banned, which was a good thing to diverse the format. Pro Tour Amonkhet also had a Top 8 stacked with Pros and notable players. It also marked the first ever Top 8 of Christian Calcano, one of the grinders in the game and someone who defintly earned it.
3. Pro Tour Hour of Devastation
-'Red Deck Wins' was certaintly a theme here. This PT saw the start of one of the most notable decks right now; Ramunap Red. Paulo Vitor Damo Da Rosa piloted his deck to the top.
Midway
-Brad Nelson, BBD, and Corey Baumister develop a great Temur Energy deck and Dominate GP Denver with a 1st, 2nd, and 4th finish.
4. The 2017 World Championships
-Three Decks: Ramunap Red, Temur Energy/4-color Energy, and Blue/Black Control. The world famous Peach Garden Oath developed and playtested their Temur Energy deck to perfection leading William Jensen to the trophy.
5. Pro Tour Ixalan
-This PT's metagame was very diverse. There were Mono-White Decks, Riddleform Decks, Sultai Energy Decks,God Pharohs-Gift decks, and of course Ramunap Red and Temur Energy Decks. Surprisingly or not surprisingly Temur Energy did not make a big show at the tournament because everyone was trying to beat it. In the end, Seth Manfield's Sultai Energy Deck led him to victory.
That is the wrap of all the PT's this year and the major stories from 2017!
